Abstract. As a result of operation of coal mine ventilation system, huge volumes of carbon and stone dust are emitted from а main fan into the atmosphere. The coarse dust emitted adheres in the sanitary protection zone of a mine. Fine dust is spread outside the zone and contaminates the environment at the distance of 3500 m from a coal mine. The ecological danger of dust emissions substantiates the necessity of measures for dust elimination of mine ventilation airflows, reduction of dust emissions into the atmosphere or their allocation inside the sanitary protection zone.

Installation of watering nozzles in the air end of mine main fan enables cooling of air flow from the air end and reduction of release height, as well as allocation of dust emission inside the industrial site of a mine. It is proposed to use the system of automatic decrease of dust discharge from mine workings into up-cast as based on hydraulic nozzles. It is recommended to provide post treatment of return ventilation current from dust in duct of main fan by means of use of the proper electrostatic streamline filter of low air-flow resistance.

Keywords: coal mine, main fan, dust emission, ecological danger, dust control, electrostatic filter.
