Abstract.

Lack of gemological evaluation for Crimean marbled limestone deposits leads to irrational use of these mineral resources objects of Ukraine. Availability of colored marble resources here means their transfer to the category of complex ones. The scheme proposed for developing of these deposits allows using of Crimean colored marble in the stone-cutting and stone industry and furthers for solution of many social and economic problems of the region and the country as a whole.

During identification of problems and determination the prospects for Crimean colored marble developing we used mining-geological, gemological information on exploited deposits in the region and analyzed colored marbles market in other regions.

The obtained results allow to determine the Rocky Crimea as a region with unique reserves of colored marble and identify priority sites for investment.
