Abstract. With deepening of mining operations, a problem of choosing a rational way for rock transportation from the quarry to the surface becomes more and more pressing. Main types of technological transports used for opening and development of the deep horizons in the quarry of Lebedinsky ore-dressing and processing company Lebediskiy GOK are analyzed. Characteristics of cyclic types of rock transportation and continuous technologies are compared with taking into account mining and geological conditions of the Lebedinsk and Stojlo-Lebedinsk fields.
Possible trends of opencast operation development are considered in order to ensure production of iron ore supplied to the surface by conveyors in amount of 40 million tons per year . An experimental design of the belt conveyor with two clamping strips is presented. Use of steeply inclined conveyor with two clamping strips can increase a slope angle of the conveyor lines and provide greater load capacity of conveyor path by 1.5 times if compare with conventional belt conveyors, as well as provide environmentally friendly rock transportation due to the suppression of dust and absence of spillage.
Keywords: automobile and rail transport, cycle-line technology, the concentration horizon, steeply inclined conveyor, belt conveyor with two compression straps, the prospect of conveyor transport.
