Abstract.

Purpose of this work is to analyze and improve technical and economic figures of mines.

The analysis is based on database collected from mines in central area of Donbas. Basic reasons of untimely and long preparation of new horizons were identified.

The article describes a process of a new horizon preparing, which is conditionally divided into three periods for the shaft sinking and two periods for horizontal excavation generation. The first period includes preparation and sinking, the second - shaft sinking and pit bottom splitting; the third - assembling and dismantling in the shaft; the fourth - immediate horizontal excavation; and the fifth includes scale construction  of the new horizon. The proposed method makes it possible to determine duration of mining operations and construction of the new horizons for advance preparation of outburst-prone layers.

Key words:

preparation, horizon, duration, sinking, shaft sinking, build rate.
