Abstract. This paper proposes a new method for determining the leakiness degree of compressed air pipe-lines to enhance of energy saving in the production, transportation and consumption of compressed air by the mine pneumatic equipment.
The proposed fixed volumes methodology provides the use of two standard receptacles, in the one of which the initial measurement parameters are fixed, and in the other – they are current. The mathematical model of determining the leakiness degree is constructed by this method on the basis of the phenomenological approach to the description of investigated physical processes. The basic regularities of the gas molecular-kinetic theory are used in the mathematical model with allowance for interrelation of pressure, temperature, volume and type of used gas. The mathematical description of the processes, happening when leakage from the closed volume is determined, is implemented using the developed method. It is shown that the effectiveness of a new method caused by application of the law of conservation of mass in a phased consideration of leakage and heat transfer processes in the calculated algorithm. Application of the proposed fixed volumes method will increase the requirements for leakage monitoring of pneumatic equipment and air supply systems during the repair and maintenance works.
