Abstract.
The aim of this study is to determine the performance of diesel D-65N on soybean oil. The studies were conducted in the laboratory of Dnepropetrovsk State Agrarian-Economic University; soybean oil is used as biofuel, produced on own manufacture by the agrofirm LLC “Privat-Alliance”. The characteristics of idle stroke and external speed characteristic of diesel D-65 during the work on soybean oil are shown. The comparison with analogical characteristics during the diesel work on standard diesel fuel is carried out. The influence of biofuel on capacity, ecology and other main diesel indices on different typical modes of operation are determined. We obtain the following results: hour fuel consumption increased by 0,31-1,36 kg while the work of a diesel engine without a load for 100% soybean oil; diesel smoke decreases and the pressure in the lubrication system is reduced for 0.1 MPa; when the diesel engine works on 100% soybean oil with the load in the working range of the number of revolutions of the crankshaft, smoke of exhaust gases is decreased by 18%, decreases the engine output and torque efficiency, and hour and effective fuel consumption increase.
