ECONOMIC VALIDATION OF THE ORE PRE-DRESSING COMPLEX USED FOR THE OVERBURDEN ROCKS IN THE KRYVBAS QUARRIES

Abstract.The objective of this work is to validate economics of applying the ore pre-dressing complex for the overburden rocks containing magnet components in the Krivbass iron-ore quarries. Design and actual productivities of the Krivbass processing plants were analyzed. It was found that productivity of the PSC "Central MPP" was 19 million tons/year, while the Glavatskiy, Pe-trovsky, Artemovskiy quarries of this enterprise together with the Ordzhonikidze Mine produced 15.5 million tons. In order to improve technical and economic indices of the enterprise, it was pro-posed to use the ore pre-dressing complex in the Petrovsky Quarry. A technological scheme was developed with the semi-mobile crushing-and-dressing complex in the transferring point on the earth surface. The article presents a scheme of the rock volume distri-bution when the ore pre-dressing complex is used for the overburden rocks and their impact on the total quarry productivity. An expected annual economic effect of the pre-dressing technology used for the overburden rocks in the Petrovsky Quarry of the Central MPP Company was calculated and amounted to UAH 27.4 million; payback period of capital investment was 2.4 years, which was 2.8 times less than the normative 6.7 years.
