Abstract. Today, in many countries of the world, practical calculations by standards are based on a criterion, in obedience to which it is required to escape unloading of anvil running wheels and to ensure positive pressure forces of the crane wheels acting on the rails of railway (or outriggers of auto-elevators / auto-stairs acting on the road coverage). In this regard, while calculating such loadings, it is necessary to apply certain safety factors. In the terms of the considered research of stability, traditional method for calculating forces of inertia causes certain doubt, as well as attributing of all of calculations to the dangerous state of object, which assumes reduction up to zero of the wheels/outriggers pressure on the railway foundation («unloading of wheels»). When pressure reaches zero value, an object not necessarily lose its stability. Some breakaway of the wheels from the foundation (rails / soil of earth) can occur, though crane / truck crane does not overturn. And, vice versa, though supporting elements (wheels or outriggers) are not unloaded, the object, at the certain moment of time, can potentially capsize (due to development of flutter processes). Therefore, correcting safety factors shall be correlated with actual state of stability loss, and shall be a subject of further significantly correct researches. By a similar considering it is possible to use at production of works on industrial areas and in the superficial complexes of coal mines.

Keywords: loss of stability, lifting-transport machines, emergency-recovery works, supporting elements of machines, theory of vibrations.
