Abstract. Annotation. In connection with a significant increase in the length of underground support networks, it is urgent to improve accuracy of the remote point location. It is established that main parameters of broken polygon traverse, which determine magnitude of error for the location of its end point from the errors of the angular measurements, are: length of the traverse, length of its closing side and total number of sides of the traverses. Based on the analysis of various schemes of open polygon traverses of broken form, a simplified dependence between error of the final point location and traverse length, length of closing side and total number of sides was determined. As a result of the research, formula was obtained for the simplified calculation, which makes it possible to determine location of the final point with error accuracy of ± 20%. Application of this formula simplifies surveying calculations in the absence of necessary geometric information concerning location of the points of the projected polygon traverse.
