ANALYSIS OF PRINCIPLE FAILURES OF ELEMENTS OF TRACTION ELECTRIC DRIVE IN THE DUMP TRUCKS

Abstract. Reasons, which affect performance of elements of traction electric drive and lead to the premature failure and long downtime, were analyzed. Failure intensification is caused by the fact that dump trucks most of the time are exploited in conditions close to critical, and, therefore, some units and aggregates operate with loads close to maximum.

A significant proportion of failures falls on electric part of the transmission, namely 62% are traction electric machines; 9% are control system of the traction electric drive; and the rest falls on mechanical part (motor - wheel).

Despite the existing solutions for increasing efficiency of operation, this problem is not fully solved yet, and, therefore, further research should be focused on nature of influence of mining and technical conditions on indicators of electromechanical transmission element performance.
