Abstract:

The article presents history of the Department creation and its basic achievements including the following: creation of power units to produce electric power from the heat; creation of autonomous energy sources; diversifications of the coal mines with focusing on fine processing of the coals; steam-turbine and gas-piston cogeneration; realization of cogeneration technologies; cutting cost of coal enrichment and transporting to power-stations. In future the Depart intents to focus on technologies of utilization of low-potential heat from the mine energy complexes with the help of low-boiling matters and reactive hydraulic steam-turbines; development of scientific basic principals for technologies of water-coal fuel creation and transporting.
