Abstract. Most of Ukrainian opencast mines, which develop deposits of non-metallic minerals, use outdated equipment preventing the businesses to be competitive in the market economy. Therefore, a problem of choosing proper equipment and relevant technological schemes for optimal operation of up-to-date equipment continues to be a pressing challenge today.
The article presents comparative analysis of four variants of operation of mining-and-loading and mining-and-hauling equipment with mobile crushing-and-screening equipment in typical Ukrainian nonmetallic opencast mines.
The following key parameters typical for opencast mines were taken into account: productivity-by-mineral of an opencast mine; distance for transportation; and number of horizons under development at the moment. Efficiency of the equipment use is estimated by productivity of and capital and operational expenses spent for mining and loading operations. The study shows that the most effective method is usage of front single-shovel loaders with rocks transported to the mobile crushing and screening equipment.
Keywords: the extraction-and-loading transport equipment, mobile crushing and screening equipment, loaders, return hydraulic mechanical shovel, technological schemes.
