Abstract.

Occurrence of complex fracture processes and formation of macroscopic cracks are investigated in a fragile material. A 3D behaviour of samples at a monaxonic compression is computed with the help of a method of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) in order to determine an optimal method for simulating processes of the loaded sample fracturing with maximal correspondence with the fracture observed during experiments. It is for the first time when this method is used for the task under consideration. The obtained results were compared with data of experiments, and the comparison proved good potential of the SPH - method for adequate presentation of fractures accumulated in the material. The 3D method allows to trace essential spatial features of the fracturing.
