Abstract. Unloading of compressed rock massif is impossible without motion of its constituent particles. Motion of rock massif particles and its unloading efficiency are determined (under otherwise equal conditions) by the effective unloading radius Rэф value. Determination of maximum Rэф value shall require meeting the condition of stress balance, i.e. weight of semi-arch rocks must be equal to weight of rocks on support within theunmined ground area per unit of support area. Proceeding from this condition, geotechnologic coefficient value was obtained for calculation of coal seam unloading effective radius at the hydrodynamic impact Rэф=0.798√H, where H is mining depth. The geotechnologic coefficient of hydrodynamic impact on prestressed rock massif kг.=0.798 allows determination of maximum effective radius of the unloaded area subject to wall-rock stability prior to start of hydrodynamic impact on the coal seam mined at the specified depth.
