Abstract.
The paper presents findings on preparatory roadway state and peculiarities of ensuring sustainability at the initial stages of the roadways mining and exploitation in Donbass mines with complex geological conditions.
The research has stated that bolt-and-arch support twice reduces (to frame supports) a period of intensive roof-to-floor displacement. However, the problem still remains while developing the roadways in unstable water-saturated rocks.
The paper shows comparative characteristics of the roadways state in the process of their mining with and without backfilling of the fastened spaces. It is shown that mechanized backfilling by the fast-hardening mixtures not only increases bearing capacity of the surrounding rock massif due to the timely reaction of the arch support to the loads, but also allows blocking water and gas flowing into the roadway from the overlying rocks.
It is recommended to backfill fastened spaces in the roadway by TECHART packages of dry cement and mineral mixture produced by the Minowa Ukraine Ltd., usage of which was successfully tested in the mines of the “Makeevugol” state enterprise.
Keywords:
bolt-and-arch support, backfilling of the fastened space in the roadway.
