Abstract.
The paper sets out the basic approaches to the determination of the rational arrangement of pillars of ropeway, taking into account the possibility of reducing the loading of the cable. A mathematical model drawn up using the principle of a modular layout. The peculiarity of the formation of the mathematical model is a description of the cable in a state of static equilibrium in each discrete position of the car on the track. The research found that the greatest efforts in the cable occur at the location of the car in the middle of a longer span. When moving the fulcrum in the vertical plane of the cable tension substantially unchanged, and when moving in the horizontal plane relatively stable change in tension. Based on these results it was recommended to increase in regulatory safety factor of the cable from 3.15 to 4.
