Abstract:
Purpose of the work is to study structural changes of coal after applied hydrodynamic shock. A main task is to research structural changes of coal in the disturbed and undisturbed zones before applying of and after hydrodynamic shock applied in the coal-containing layer. Method of hydrodynamic shock employed in the gas-saturated coal layers allows to obtain their effective degassing, to change the massif stress-strain state toward unloading the layers, and to prevent sudden rock outbursts. Samples of coal selected in the LE «F.E. Dzerzhinskiy Mine» of the SOE «Dzerzhinskugol» were used for studying structural changes of the coal in the disturbed and undisturbed zones before applying of and after hydrodynamic shock applied in the coal-containing layer. Percentage of partings were determined in the coal samples. The findings have proven that hydrodynamic shock does not influence the coal structure, i.e. does not increase or diminish percentage of partings in the coal samples in the disturbed and undisturbed zones of the coal layers.
