Abstract.
The authors considered performance of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (the SPH method) applied for calculating a stress - strain state (SSS) of the coal-rock massif with taking into account a possibility of the outburst occurrence. A basic task of the study was to obtain high-quality results on aftereffects of the roadway mining by a blasting method in the rocks near-by with the outburst-prone coal bed.
The research showed that the proposed method used for modeling the rock behaviour in the process of mining operations made it possible to describe adequately the sudden outbursts. Reasonability to present an outburst-prone coal bed in the form of a saturated-by-energy medium was confirmed. Basing on the calculations made for the proposed scheme of the rock mining by the blasting method it became possible to determine a moment and a point of the outburst occurrence and to estimate aftereffects of the roadway space filling with the rock fragments.
The findings can be applied in further studies of the outburst process which are necessary in order to transfer from qualitative results to quantitative results with testing various variants of the mining parameters, and, with the systemized processing of the data, to create new engineering methods.
