Abstract. An object of the research was automated primary statistical processing of the numer-ical data array immediately in the process of measuring. Purpose of the research was to design an algorithm for the microprocessor for the purpose of obtaining a value for the informative parameter with a predetermined degree of variation in the optimization of the number of measurements.
Influence of the following key factors, which determine spread of control device indications on elements of geotechnical systems in the process of measuring, was shown: inherent accuracy of the measuring instrument, subjective factor, spatial-temporal variability of the object of measurement. A contradiction was noted between the need to improve reliability of the measurements and need to reduce labor costs of the measuring operations. One of the ways of solving this problem is in-situ primary statistical processing of the measuring results. An algorithm was designed which assumed usage of a microprocessor. This algorithm features flexible programming of parameter values per each work operation for their processing by an external computer. Under the given requirements to the data reliability, anomalous values are automatically rejected with simultaneous specifying a needed number of measurements per each cycle. At the end of the cycle, the results are saved in memory, and their final processing is performed by the external computer.
Keywords: variations of parameter values, statistical processing, microprocessor, measurement instrument, reliability of results.
