Abstract. The study of coal samples, saturated with moisture and methane, by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy on hydrogen is associated with difficulties, which caused by the complex structure of spectra. Causes, which effect on formation and form of 1H NMR fluid-saturated coal spectrum were considered. Separation of spectrum on the components and their interpolation meth-ods described. Interpolation functions for spectrum components, which forming by methane and water mobile molecules in studied coal in different conditions, was proposed. Principles of amount of substance, which form spectral lines out of full NMR spectra, determination were described. The interpretation of experimental spectra is performed according to the concept of hydrogen localiza-tion in different elements of the coal structure and its saturating fluids.
Keywords: fossil coal, methane, NMR, spectroscopy.
