Abstract. Specific formation of destruction cavities at the gas-dynamic phenomena occurred in the tunnel face near the tectonic faults were studied with the help of mathematical simulation methods. The designed mathematical model of joint behaviour of nonstationary coupled processes of elasto-plastic deformation of porous fractured medium and methane filtration was verified by way of comparing calculated and factual data on the shape of the outburst cavity. Distribution of geomechanical and filtration parameter values in a disturbed coal seam zone in different time points of the gas-dynamic phenomena are presented in the article. Different variants of physical and mechanical properties distribution in the coal seam roof rock are considered. It is shown that in case of strong, undisturbed surrounding rocks the outburst cavity is formed within the coal seam; vertical section of the outburst cavity has a rectangular shape with a curved end, and horizontal section has a shape of irregular ellipse. When physical and mechanical properties of surrounding rocks as well as the coal properties are weakened near the tectonic fault, then during the gas-dynamic phenomenon, the rocks are destructed and removed away from the generating cavity together with coal.
Keywords: Keywords: coupled processes simulation, gas-dynamic processes, shape of the outburst cavity, tectonic faults.
