Abstract. Criteria and parameters of a method for estimating efficiency of the outburstpreventing measures at opening of steeply inclined coal layers prone to appearance of gas-dynamic phenomena were specified with the help of a mine meter of methane mass-transportation in the coal. The paper presents results of experiments and acceptance tests held at crosscut opening of four coal seams in the mines of the State Company “Dzerzhynskugol”. It is shown that at opening of the risk coal layers of m3-«Tolsty» and m2-«Tonky», hor. 710 m, in the «Toretskaya Mine» the criterion of estimation characterized the layers’ gas-dynamic state as not dangerous (В<5). At opening of prone-to-outburst coal layers of m3-«Tolsty» and m2-«Tonky», hor. 1146 m, of the F.E.. Dzerzhynsky Mine, the criterion was equal to В=7,8-8,9; however, after conducting the outburst-preventing measures it became В=3,6-4,9, and no gas-dynamic phenomena were registered. On the whole, the results of acceptance tests have confirmed that criterion B can be used for estimating efficiency of outburst-preventing measures at opening of steeply inclined coal layers prone to appearance of gas-dynamic phenomena.
