Abstract. Objective of the work is to study methods and means for improving efficiency of the air-gas control in the coal mines. Scientific basis for the improvement of air-gas control (AGC) in the mines is a reliable forecast of methane-bearing capacity dynamics in the panel and modernization of the AGC methods and systems. In the article, main reasons, which cause emergencies in result of the air-gas situation in the panel incorrectly represented by the AGC equipment, are analyzed on the example of diagrams with sensor readings of methane content taken from real situation. The authors have analyzed up-to-date methods for monitoring of air-gas situation in the panels of the coal mines and have specified main trends of the AGC development with taking into account methane-emission forecast made on the basis of complex data on total operations in the working area. An airing control method is proposed for the preparatory roadways, which controls operation of local-airing fans based on remote-control data on methane content in the tunnels.
Keywords: coal mine, air-gas control, methane, sensor, forecasting.
