SYSTEMATIZATION OF MINING AND GEOLOGICAL CONDITIONS OF COAL MINES IN WESTERN DONBASS

Abstract. Geology of any mine field determines conditions for mining operations. Mining and geological conditions of coal mines in Western Donbass were described mainly in the geological reports made in the 70s and 90s of the last century. However, mining activities was revealed new geological conditions. The study of geological conditions of the Donetsk Basin is continued in the twenty-first century. The literature review shows that researchers in their studies examined the following specific conditions: tectonic disturbances of coal deposits, physical and mechanical properties of rocks, etc. Therefore, objective of this article is to solve problem of comprehensive research, analysis and compilation of geological and mining conditions of coal mines in Western Donbas in all mined seams. In this article, mining and geological conditions of coal mines in Western Donbass are analyzed. Based on the analysis, it is the first systematic description made for the geological and mining conditions of the mines. It is for the first time when mines in Western Donbass are grouped by similarity of geological and mining conditions, as well as by complexity of mining operations. Degree of complexity of geological conditions was set for each group of mines. Solving of the problem will allow determining parameters of and scheduling conditions for mining operations for each group of mines.
