Abstract:
The article describes history and trends of development of Mining Aerogasdynamics Department, the oldest Department of the Institute (the Department had existed long before the Institute was founded) which was reorganized several times: some of its subdivisions started their independent work among which are the divisions headed by: F.A. Abramov, corresponding member Academy of Science of UkrSSR, professors R.B. Tjan, J.A.Tseitlin, G.A. Sheveljov, V.V. Vinogradov, candidates of technical sciences V.J. Potjomkin and N.М. Khachapuridzae. Today this trend continues in the Department headed by A.F.Bulat, academician of the National Academy of Science, of Ukraine. These Departments study problems of coal, rock and gas outbursts, air-and-gas dynamics, and emergency protection in mines for many years.
