The article describes history of establishment and development of the Department of Elastomeric Component Mechanics in Mining Machines, formulates basic tasks of the Department for the whole period of its existence and tasks of the laboratory of new technologies for processing raw material and industrial wastes (Dniprodzerzhinsk), and presents developments implemented in industrial enterprises.
