18. DEPARTMENT OF MINERAL MINING AT GREAT DEPTHS: HISTORY OF CREATION AND FIELDS OF ACTIVITY

Abstract:

The article presents chronology of the Department team work from the moment of its creation and describes basic fields of researches and future plans. There are six principal fields of researches: supporting of permanent and preparatory roadways; development of new technologies and fastening elements for supporting permanent and preparatory roadways by using of nonconventional, energy-saving and friendly environmental materials; new technologies for rock-and-coal massif degassing with the help of gas-collecting roadways; ultrasonic technologies for formation of radio-shielded surfaces; reorganization of coal industry on the basis of highly-effective heat-and-power complexes (MHPC) designed for combined production of heat and electric power; development of mathematic modeling theory for ventilation processes in the coal mines in standard and emergency modes. The Department‘s further intention is to focus on improvement of the mine degassing and CBM recovery and utilization.
