Abstract.
This article discusses some of the problems of grinding of mineral raw materials in the shock-centrifugal crushers with a vertical shaft of working body. We consider the hypothesis linking work, supplied to the mill, with the indicator of the results of the grinding process (hypotheses by Kirpichov, Bond, Rehbinder et al.); Rittinger’s hypothesis is prefered, according to which the newly surface, formed by ore grinding, is proportional to the work produced. We present a mathematical model of fracture of mineral raw materials in shock-centrifugal crushers; the model is based on the concept of quasibrittle destruction by G.P. Cherepanov, according to which “…the value of irreversible work expended on the formation of a unit area of the free surface of the body during the development of cracks is a material constant independent of the load, body shape and size”. Coulomb - Navier theory is used with the function of damaged material to calculate the energy intensity of the destruction of mineral raw materials in the compression and shear deformation. It is shown that the most energy-efficient mechanism of destruction of materials in the shock-centrifugal crushers are ways and means, in which shear stresses are implemented mainly.
