IMPROVED METHOD FOR COMPUTING METHANE CONCENTRATIONS ALONG THE TUNNEL NETWORK CONTAINING DISPERSED METHANE-RELEASING SOURCES

Abstract

Specific functioning of the mine ventilation systems containing clusters of the «goaf» type with different-power laws of air motion within each cluster are considered. The authors propose methods for determining routs of methane-air mixture migration from the edges of the «goaf» cluster to the ground surface, and for calculating time period for gassing the tunnels located along and concentrations of methane-air mixture in these routs, and method for parallel calculating of air distribution in the mine ventilation network by method of site-to-site difference with taking into account different debits of methane flowing into the mine tunnels from the «goaf» cluster. The proposed method for estimating state of the mine ventilation system with taking into account methane flowing from the «goaf» cluster ensures more accurate calculating of ventilation systems with observing all requirements of safety regulations.
