Abstract.

Problems of controlling effectiveness after implementation of outburst prevention measures are considered. Results of experimental research on estimating changes in methane concentration in the outgoing air stream in process of implementation of outburst prevention measures during mining operations and coal extraction are considered. It is stated that the implementation of local outburst prevention measures is accompanied by a considerable increase of methane concentration in the outgoing air stream flowing from the coal face. Level and dynamics of the methane concentration adequately characterize the fact of implementetion of and duration of the outburst prevention measures, and application of appropriate sensors automates monitoring of their implementation. The experimental results support a conclusion that gas content in the coal seam is one of the informative indicators of effectiveness of the outburst prevention measure implementation.
