Abstract.
Subject of the research is regularity of the rock stress-strain state and roads for methane migration changes induced by mining operations. Purpose of the research is to disclose mechanism and regularities of the gas-saturated rock destruction behind the longwall and to work out recommendations for specifying rational parameters for the degassing holes. Basing of the results of experimental studies in mines, regularities of the rock stress-strain state changes behind the longwall in the previously mined panels, panels being currently under the mining operations and in the panel ends were established. Basing on these regularities, a mechanism of the rock destruction, roads of methane migration, zones of methane accumulation were specified and calculation methods of rational parameters for the degassing holes were designed. Practical importance of the findings lies in possibility to specify parameters for the degassing hole boring with taking into account regular methane migration in the rock mass under the impact of mining operations and to make rational technical decisions on improving degassing effectiveness.
Key words:
rock destruction, roads for methane migration, degassing.
