Abstract:

The article presents results of industrial testing of a method for intensifying degassing of the coal seam l7v-"Pugachevka" at the bottom of the stepping face №65-1146 m with the help of hydrodynamic shock. It is stated that periodic dynamic cantledges on the steep gassy coal seams when working fluid is pumped into the borehole at a pressure of 4-6 MPa with further pressure releasing up to 0-2 MPa at discharging the gas-and-coal slurry at the end of each cycle, initiate desorption of gas in the coal massif within the area bounded by effective radius Ref of the hydrodynamic shock. Analysis of the results showed that when hydrodynamic shock applied to the coal seam includes 25-29 cycles intensity of methane emissions from the coal seams increases by 1,25-3,75 times in the area with radius of 20-30 m, and over 40 thousand m3 of gas is recovered till the moment when the  breakage face approaches the mined area.

Keywords: steep seam, gas content, technological borehole, hydrodynamic impact, intensification of degassing, radius of the effective action.
