Mining by an underground method and transition on deep horizons, intensification of cleansing and sinking works require the increase of efficiency of works of mine lifting complexes. In this work, existing designs of the guide devices for the mine cages, which ensured directional movement of the cage in frontal direction in the shaft guide along the depth of the vertical shaft, were investigated. Drawbacks and advantages of the existing guide devices were studied, and highly reliable and efficient designs were developed for guiding the cage movement in frontal direction in the rigid box-shaped and cable-profile shaft guides. Research, development and introduction of new designs of the guide devices for cages moving in frontal direction will allow: to prevent early failure of rolling bearings in rollers under the action of frontal loads; to reduce stitching the guide device by coal dust and spilled coal and to avoid simultaneous jamming of all of the rollers in the guide device; to reduce level of responsibility of the guide device maintenance; to reduce frequency of rubber roller rupture on the welded joints of the shaft guides and clusters of rust; to avoid bending of the axis and failure of bearings under the dynamic effects caused by the shaft guides as a result of the bending of the shaft equipment due to rock pressure, dynamics, and other phenomena; to increase significantly, by 2-3 times, period of trouble-free operation and reliability of the guide device operating in the frontal direction; to reduce by 2-3 times level of frontal oscillations by the roller factor; to ensure high reliability of kinematic connection in the cage-guide system; to reduce significantly frequency of contact between the safety sliding pad and shaft guides; to reduce significantly wear of the shaft guide in the frontal direction caused by the safety sliding pad.
