Annotation.

During realization of measures on rescuing people and elimination of accident stipulated by the plan of accident elimination, a situation can occur, when effectiveness of the mine rescue service work goes down because of lack of information about the accident and threatened areas in the mine at the time of making the decisions. Traditional monitoring facilities are absent, and obtaining information by a man during the accident creates a danger for his life. State of the accident site is unstable with unsteady air-, gas- and thermodynamic processes inside, geometry of the site is changing, and roadways are blocked up leading to impossibility to estimate development of emergency situation by a man.  The way out is to use robot facilities for monitoring the situation. Such facilities (caterpillar, serpentine, flying) are widely used abroad, however, their application is not found yet in the Ukrainian coal mines. For the purposes above, the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are preferred because of their high maneuverability, free flying despite of relief along the route of observance in the emergency area, speed of their moving and processing of information, and possibilities of direct viewing. Small dimensions of the UAV equipped with small measuring devices allow to monitor hard-to-reach sites in emergency area and to transfer to the mine dispatcher information which can be used for more grounded choosing the tasks for the mine-rescue services and for their safety work. The UAV are also effective for examining state of big surface objects of mine and objects of build industry (height buildings, smoke tubes, television towers), otherwise it is necessary to involve specially trained alpinists, though this is rather dangerous for them. Like the UAV  work in underground terms they can be useful during prospecting of obstructions at destruction of buildings and realization of rescue works. However, additional researches are needed related to organization of information transfer from the UAV, control of them at long distance and their passing through the bottlenecks and obstructions in the mine tunnels, etc.
