Abstract.

Using numerical simulation of the bolting work, the conditions for the formation of a load-bearing support by one anchor, formation of the support-anchor overlap by the anchor system and formation of elements of rock-bolting structure are investigated. To improve the technology of anchoring, a new concept has been developed. It consists in the fact that the interacting rock-anchor supports form blocks which are united into a single construction that can resist rock pressure. It is shown that it should consist of the following elements: a load-bearing part of the canopy; a backing-up part of the canopy; supports of the canopy; a base of the structure and elements “bridges”. The load-bearing part of the canopy counteracts deformations of the roof rocks and their displacement into the roadway. The backup part takes the load from the load-bearing element of the canopy and transmit it to the support. This part is also needed for controlling life period of the construction depending on the roadway operation. Supports of the canopy transmit load from the canopy to the base. The base of the construction facilitates increasing of stability of the roadway wall and decreasing of the floor heaving. The “bridges” prevent the edge rock mass from breaking due to the released strain energy, which is accumulated with each elongation of the roadway. An increase in the number of bolts in structural elements of anchor supports leads to an increase in the relative strength of triaxially compressed edge rocks. After this indicator reaches the threshold value, the reinforced rocks begin to work as a support, the bearing capacity of which increases with increasing construction power. Acceptable values of the relative strength of 6.0-7.5 are stored in the rocks around the mine working, if the distance between the mine face and the first row of bolts does not exceed 300 mm at a driving rate of 3-10 m/day. An increase in the distance between the mine face and the first row of bolts leads to a decrease in the relative strength of the rocks in the construction.

These results made it possible to improve the bearing-bolt supporting technology, which is successfully used in the coal mines of DTEK Pavlogradugol PJSC, Krasnodonugol PJSC and Krasnolimanskoye LLC.
